The Walking Dead franchise has experienced mixed success with computer games. Telltale’s episodic series is top notch, but tries to make other types of Walking Dead games (particularly, shooters) haven’t gone as well. Thankfully, it feels like the upcoming The Walking Dead co-op FPS from developer Overkill (the Payday series) would be the franchise’s first non-Telltale game worth playing.
Overkill has revealed the primary of four characters obtainable in their Walking Dead game using a rather impressive cinematic trailer. Investigate it, below.
A Walking Dead good guy which has a weaponized bat? That’s an intriguing choice. Oh, and intentionally arising the walkers is ballsy move. This Aidan guy feels like he has some serious badass credentials. Not sure what Overkill’s The Walking Dead depends upon? Here’s a basic rundown from the developer:
“Overkill’s The Walking Dead is really a four-player co-op action FPS, where you plus your friends fight the dead plus the living. Occur The Walking Dead Universe, both you and your group aim to survive inside of a post-apocalyptic Washington D.C.
Each character has their particular Special Abilities, Skill Trees, Squad Roles, Play Styles and Story Arcs, but teamwork makes perfect. Encounter is close-up and intense: get enemies carefully with silent melee attack or go in guns blazing together with your personal choice of each class firearms. You have to be qualified to improvise as not a single thing certain as well as a horde of walkers is actually closer than you think.”
You can also watch an archived sort of a newly released Overkill’s The Walking Dead livestream, featuring interviews when using the developers, and comments from Robert Kirkman himself.
What do you reckon? Performs this game sound promising, or are you drinking dead on arrival? Overkill’s The Walking Dead shambles onto PC, Xbox One, and PS4 at the end of 2018.
